Remanufacturing in practice

We have been involved in developing methods and processes for extending the value of existing components throughout their lifecycle. The assignment focused on restoring components to their original specification — or better — through remanufacturing, with the goal of creating more circular flows that strengthen supply capabilities while reducing environmental impact.

The work included the development and implementation of remanufacturing solutions for critical components. This involved technical analysis, business case development, sourcing strategies, and production setup for industrial-scale operations. By restoring and reintroducing components into production and aftermarket systems, the availability of bottleneck components was improved while also reducing the overall climate footprint.

In parallel, we led pilot initiatives related to circular workflows and future business models, with a strong focus on practical feasibility and measurable business value. The work was carried out in close collaboration with operational teams and integrated into existing processes, with a clear emphasis on execution and real-world impact.

The result is scalable and operational remanufacturing solutions that strengthen supply capability for both production and aftermarket operations, contribute to increased sustainability, and create long-term business value — while laying the foundation for a more circular industrial approach.
